These various notes sections were some of my favorite parts of the book.
And for many/most of the recipes there’s a short food facts section that gives extra history or insight into the dish and its variants, and sometimes culture facts and anime facts sections where extra details are given on those topics. After each recipe is a list of other anime you might have seen the dish in. Each recipe is tied to an anime with a brief description of how the food factors into the show. My only nitpick with the layout is some of the text can be rather small.
I love the layout and fantastic photographs of most of the dishes. This is a beautiful little cookbook full of recipes seen in many, many anime series and movies. First up, a couple disclaimers: I won this book through a goodreads giveaway, and I’ve not yet tried making any of the recipes from the book.
